Here at The Students’ Union at UWE, we deeply value the dedication and hard work of our Student Representatives. Serving as a Student Rep is not only an important role in ensuring the voices of students are heard, but also one that comes with numerous rewards and recognition opportunities.
To be a Student Rep, you must attend a training session. Every summer, we reward our 1000+ Student Reps with a digital certificate, as a thank you for your valuable contributions and to recognise you as a Student Rep. These are a fantastic addition to your LinkedIn or CV.
Want to take your impact further and be rewarded to a higher standard? Here's how.
You have the opportunity to earn a certificate for Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. Through completing these tasks, you are not only creating lasting impact for students to come, but also earning recognition for your hard work!
(To achieve this level, you must complete at least 2 of the following 3.)
1. Attend Student Rep Staff Forums (SRSFs) / Programme Management Committees (PMCs)
Attend at least two of these meetings.

2. Pass on feedback to your Lead School Rep (LSR)
Attend at least one meeting with your Lead School Rep (LSR), or email them with an update from your SRSF/PMC. This can be positive, or letting them know about something that couldn't be resolved at a programme-level meeting.
Lead School Rep meetups take place after your SRSF/PMC meetings, and before LSRs attend School Boards of Study. Your LSR will get in touch to arrange this meeting, so that they can take your feedback right to the top!
3. Attend Student Rep Conference (SRC)
Attend at least one Student Rep Conference, three happen every academic year. They are chaired by your VP Education and enable you to meet Student Reps from across different programmes and schools. It is a great way to hear about UWE updates and gain ideas for your role!

1. Attend a Student Rep Masterclass
Attend at least one masterclass. No need to submit evidence for this, as The Students’ Union will keep a record of attendees. You can book onto a masterclass using the Masterclass Sign Up form.

The Student Experience Awards celebrates the outstanding contributions of students and staff to the university learning and teaching community and student experience. These awards recognize achievements in various areas, including academics, community involvement, and well-being. Student Representatives are specifically honoured through the Outstanding Student Rep Awards, which highlight their dedication to representing their peers and making significant contributions to positive change within their programmes, Schools and Colleges.
